FoodBev SETA, in partnership with Gert Sibande TVET College, is offering 130 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for 2025. These placements are aimed at students from Report 191 Business and Engineering Studies who require workplace experience to complete their qualifications. Applications are open until 27 May 2025 and will take place in Gert Sibande regions, South Africa.
Background & Job Description
This Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme is part of FoodBev SETA’s skills development initiative and is crafted to provide practical, hands-on experience to students from TVET colleges. The aim is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world workplace application. Successful candidates will be placed in various organisations across the Gert Sibande District, receiving exposure aligned with their field of study.
The WIL programme is designed exclusively for unemployed South African citizens who have not previously participated in any In-service Training programme and are in need of workplace experience to graduate.
Fields of Study and Number of Posts:
- Business Management – 20 Posts
- Marketing Management – 20 Posts
- Human Resource Management – 20 Posts
- Financial Management – 20 Posts
- Management Assistant – 40 Posts
- Mechanical Engineering – 5 Posts
- Electrical Engineering – 5 Posts
Tasks
Candidates placed in the programme will be expected to:
- Participate in day-to-day departmental activities relevant to their field of study
- Apply theoretical knowledge in practical business or technical operations
- Assist with administrative, project coordination, and technical support tasks
- Complete logbooks and evaluation forms as part of their training
- Attend induction sessions and regular progress reviews
Qualifications
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet the following academic criteria:
- Possess a completed N4 – N6 Certificate in one of the relevant disciplines
- Academic records or statements of results must be originally certified and not older than six months
Experience
- No prior work experience is required
- Applicants must be unemployed and not have participated in a prior WIL programme
- Preference will be given to candidates currently volunteering, provided they can submit a dated and stamped confirmation letter from the hosting company
