The Work Integrated Learning Programme is a six-month structured initiative focusing on skills development and workforce readiness. Participants will gain on-the-job experience, professional mentorship, and the essential knowledge required to become competent entry-level operators in one of the most respected paper production companies globally.
What You’ll Be Doing
During this learning programme, candidates will:
- Gain hands-on experience performing entry-level production tasks
- Engage in pre-start checks and assist in plant startups and shutdowns
- Conduct routine operational and safety checks to minimize potential failures
- Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and address performance issues
- Operate equipment under supervision and complete reports, checklists, and quality control tasks
- Learn to navigate internal systems including SAP and Microsoft platforms
- Understand chemical safety and apply relevant knowledge in daily operations
- Follow Mondi’s strict safety policies and process procedures

Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
- Minimum 60% average pass rate
- Completed P1 & P2 practical work experience in a heavy industry (advantageous)
- Valid South African driver’s license
