The Work Integrated Learning Programme is a six-month structured initiative focusing on skills development and workforce readiness. Participants will gain on-the-job experience, professional mentorship, and the essential knowledge required to become competent entry-level operators in one of the most respected paper production companies globally.

What You’ll Be Doing

During this learning programme, candidates will:

  • Gain hands-on experience performing entry-level production tasks
  • Engage in pre-start checks and assist in plant startups and shutdowns
  • Conduct routine operational and safety checks to minimize potential failures
  • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and address performance issues
  • Operate equipment under supervision and complete reports, checklists, and quality control tasks
  • Learn to navigate internal systems including SAP and Microsoft platforms
  • Understand chemical safety and apply relevant knowledge in daily operations
  • Follow Mondi’s strict safety policies and process procedures

Requirements

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering and/or Pulp & Paper Technology
  • Minimum 60% average pass rate
  • Completed P1 & P2 practical work experience in a heavy industry (advantageous)
  • Valid South African driver’s license
