Minimum Requirements
- Medically fit for the position and work environment as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
- Clear Security Screening Record
- Valid Regulations 21 Certificate
- Firearm competency certificate issued by SAPS (handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine) or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Grade B registration with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority)
- NQF 4 qualification (Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
Role Responsibility
- Execute the Security Policy, Code of Conduct, Security Rules, Procedures, and Standards
- Supervise SSMS personnel deployed at the shaft/zone, conduct regular visits, and sign pocketbooks during inspections
- Discuss crime threat information with personnel in assigned areas
- Ensure proper handover between shifts
- Enforce compliance at all designated areas
- Inspect and ensure completion of registers, control sheets, and occurrence books
- Detect and respond to security incidents promptly
- Conduct alarm testing and daily inspections
- Ensure safe handling of firearms by personnel
- Record and report all non-compliance, alerts, and incidents effectively
- Distribute relevant incident and shift reports
- Perform safe behavioural observations
- Conduct spot checks on waybills and report irregularities
- Oversee the accurate release of waybills
- Ensure all escorts follow set protocols
- Submit regular risk assessments and equipment needs reports to the Sectional Supervisor
