Remuneration

The internship offers a competitive remuneration package based on your academic status:

  • Qualification completed with minimum 360 credits: R9 531.54 per month (Basic Salary, no benefits)
  • Enrolled as a student: R3 500.00 per month (Basic salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus a Higher National Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Residency: Only residents of the City of Johannesburg will be considered.

Primary Function

The primary function of this role is to provide technical and administrative support to the Energy Sector Unit. As an intern, you will play a crucial part in various activities aimed at enhancing the City’s energy services. City of Johannesburg (CoJ): Energy Internships 2024

Key Performance Areas

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Policy Development: Assisting with activities related to the development of policies, strategies, and plans for City compliance and support, in line with the Energy framework policies and guidelines.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitoring the Entity’s compliance with the National Rationalized Specifications (NRSs).
  • Service Delivery Inspections: Carrying out service delivery inspections at various sites.
  • Project Oversight: Providing oversight on high-priority projects implemented by the Entity.
  • Service Delivery Monitoring: Monitoring the implementation of priority projects to address service delivery backlogs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaising with SDCs to resolve queries and issues promptly, improving service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Ensuring all reports about site visits are substantiated by corresponding evidence.
  • Framework Development: Assisting with developing the Energy Service Delivery Framework of the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating stakeholder engagement on all energy matters within the city.
