Key Responsibilities

1. Production Process:

  • Manufacturing Detonating Cord: Operate and manage different production stations (C1 to C6) to manufacture detonating cords of various sizes.
  • Powder Charge Handling: Accurately measure and handle powder charges according to specific cord requirements, utilizing precise formulas.

2. Machine Setup and Operation:

  • Tooling Setup: Prepare and set up machinery with the correct tooling based on the product specifications.
  • Log Sheets and Production Tags: Maintain detailed and accurate records of production processes for traceability purposes.

3. Quality Control:

  • Sample Collection: Regularly take samples from each spool to conduct quality checks.

4. Housekeeping:

  • Maintain Cleanliness: Uphold general housekeeping standards within the production area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

5. Shift Management:

  • Start-up and Shut-down Procedures: Execute proper start-up routines before shifts and complete shut-down processes at the end of the week or as required.

6. Methodology:

  • Epex Methodology: Have a comprehensive understanding of Epex methodology to ensure adherence to production standards.

7. Work Environment:

  • Pressure Management: Maintain composure and efficiency under pressure, working full shifts and overtime as needed.

8. Personal Attributes:

  • Conscientiousness and Diligence: Display meticulous attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.

Required Qualifications

Formal Education:

  • Grade 12 Certificate: A high school diploma is essential for this role.
  • Mathematics and Science: Having these subjects in your educational background will be advantageous.

Experience:

  • Explosives Manufacturing: A minimum of 6+ months experience in explosives manufacturing is required.
  • Cord Plant Experience: Prior experience in a cord plant will be an added advantage.
