Job Overview
SAB Packaging Learnership 2026: Apply Before 12 June 2026 Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) is recruiting a Packaging Machine Specialist-2 to maintain, repair, and optimise packaging hall machinery to ensure high plant availability and product quality while maintaining safety and operational standards.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical expertise and FMCG manufacturing experience.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and performance of packaging machinery while reducing downtime and supporting production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Review SAP downtime reports before maintenance meetings
- Develop and review SWIs, SOPs, and maintenance schedules
- Train operators and artisans to close skills gaps
- Source spare parts and manage repair processes
- Conduct store inspections and review stock holding levels
- Support shutdown planning and maintenance scheduling
- Track machine performance and KPIs
- Provide technical guidance on machine operations and fault finding
- Mentor and coach shift-based teams
- Perform planned and routine maintenance activities
- Assist with maintenance administration and SAP tasks
- Participate in maintenance postmortems and improvement initiatives
- Carry out autonomous operations and machine grouping improvements
- Escalate unresolved issues to Maintenance Controllers when required
- Perform standby duties and respond to call-outs
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum N6 Mechanical qualification (Trade Tested)
OR - National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Experience with:
- Krones machines
- KHS machines
- Conveyor systems
