Department of Employment and Labour Security Officers 2026 (X2 Posts) The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting qualified candidates to apply for two Security Officer positions available in Gauteng. These positions are based at the Labour Centre in Pretoria and the Provincial Office in Parktown.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced security professionals who are registered with PSIRA and are passionate about maintaining safety, security, and access control within government facilities.
Job Description
Successful candidates will be responsible for protecting government property, employees, clients, information, and assets while ensuring compliance with security regulations and procedures.
The Security Officer will play a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment within Department of Employment and Labour offices.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control
- Control access to and from the Labour Centre or Provincial Office.
- Verify visitors and employees entering the premises.
- Monitor movement of people and vehicles.
Security Services
- Conduct regular security patrols of buildings and offices.
- Ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and government assets.
- Prevent unauthorized access and security breaches.
- Enforce security rules and regulations.
Information and Asset Protection
- Secure confidential information and government assets.
- Monitor and report security risks.
- Assist in safeguarding departmental property.
Investigations and Compliance
- Conduct internal security investigations when required.
- Ensure compliance with departmental security policies.
- Implement security procedures and protocols.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Grade C Security Certificate.
- Current registration with PSIRA.
- Computer literacy skills.
Knowledge Requirements
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
- Evacuation procedures.
- Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).
- PSIRA regulations and procedures.
- Batho Pele Principles.
- Public Service Regulations.
- Departmental policies and procedures.
