Key Requirements

- Educational Qualifications:
- Matric certificate
- Diploma or degree in diagnostic radiography
- Mammography certificate
- Certificate of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and annual registration with HPCSA
- Experience:
- At least one year of postgraduate/community service work experience in mammography
- Skills:
- Good patient care
- Strong organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Strong interpersonal relationships
- Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation standards
- Familiarity with specialized procedures and equipment
Job Responsibilities
As a Production Radiographer (Mammographer) in the health sector, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing diagnostic radiographs
- Collaborating effectively within a health-focused team
- Working with student mammographers during their clinical training
- Planning and organizing radiography services in alignment with the Department of Health’s vision and mission statements
- Monitoring stock control to ensure continuous service provision
- Ensuring high standards of patient care
- Conducting departmental quality assurance tasks
- Communicating with external and internal health professionals to guarantee patient safety and equitable treatment
- Performing any other reasonable duties as required by the job description
