Key Requirements

To be considered for this health-focused role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Matric certificate
  • Diploma or degree in diagnostic radiography
  • Mammography certificate
  • Certificate of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and annual registration with HPCSA
  • Experience:
  • At least one year of postgraduate/community service work experience in mammography
  • Skills:
  • Good patient care
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation standards
  • Familiarity with specialized procedures and equipment

Job Responsibilities

As a Production Radiographer (Mammographer) in the health sector, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing diagnostic radiographs
  • Collaborating effectively within a health-focused team
  • Working with student mammographers during their clinical training
  • Planning and organizing radiography services in alignment with the Department of Health’s vision and mission statements
  • Monitoring stock control to ensure continuous service provision
  • Ensuring high standards of patient care
  • Conducting departmental quality assurance tasks
  • Communicating with external and internal health professionals to guarantee patient safety and equitable treatment
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as required by the job description
