Introduction
The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) is offering an exciting opportunity for graduates and students seeking practical work experience. With 58 internship positions available across various divisions and provincial offices, this 24-month programme is designed to provide valuable hands-on training while enhancing employability. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend and will gain industry-relevant experience in key departments at NLC’s head office and provincial offices across South Africa.

Job Description:
The Graduate and Student Internship Programme is tailored for young South Africans looking to develop skills in sectors such as Information Technology, Finance, Regulatory Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Human Capital Management, and more. Interns will be assigned to different NLC divisions and Smart Skills Centres, contributing to meaningful projects and gaining industry exposure.

Ideal Candidate:
Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Have completed their N6 National Certificates or a relevant Undergraduate/Postgraduate qualification
  • Be unemployed and require 18 months of experiential training
  • Have never participated in any other internship programme
  • Be a South African Citizen
  • Preferably reside in the province where the internship is being offered

Role Responsibility:
Interns will be placed in various NLC divisions and Smart Skills Centres, including:

Head Office (Pretoria) Divisions:

  • Information & Communication Technology: Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management System
  • Business Development: Developmental Studies, Research Management, Data Science, Statistics
  • Regulatory Compliance: Management Assistant, Secretarial Assistant
  • Finance: Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Public Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management
  • Enterprise Risk Management: Risk Management, Internal Audit
  • Human Capital Management: Human Resources Management, Organisational Development

Provincial Offices:

  • KwaZulu-Natal (Durban): Project Management, Public/Business Administration, M&E Administration
  • Limpopo (Polokwane): Public Management, Business Administration, Management Assistant
  • North-West (Mafikeng): Public Management, Human Sciences, Management Assistant
  • Gauteng (Pretoria): Management Assistant
  • Eastern Cape (East London): Management Assistant
  • Mpumalanga (Nelspruit): Management Assistant
  • Free State (Welkom): Management Assistant
  • Northern Cape (Kimberley): Management Assistant
  • Western Cape (Cape Town): Management Assistant

CHIETA Smart Skills Centres:
Interns will be placed at various centres in KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, North-West, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Western Cape, Gauteng, Free State, and Northern Cape to gain experience in Business Management, Business Computing, Communication & Customer Service, Administration, and Accounting.
