SBV: X8 Cash Processor (KEMPTON PARK) SBV is seeking eight Cash Processors for their Kempton Park branch. The role involves the meticulous and precise handling of cash, adhering strictly to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). A Cash Processor may be tasked with one or several of the following responsibilities:

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving Cash:

  • Accept deposits and update relevant systems accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures to mitigate risks to both the company and customers.
  • Prepare cash on the appropriate system.
  • Inspect containers/bags for any damage or tampering, and report discrepancies to the Team Controller.
  • Record acknowledgment of containers/bags on the relevant system.
  • Process all deposits in accordance with bank SLAs and SOPs.
  • Ensure accurate preparation to facilitate efficient note counting.

Note Sorting:

  • Sort all prepared deposits/notes (FDP/ACDP) within the same day and before cut-off times.
  • Send rejected notes to the Cash Processor with PCD cards, deposit slips, and stop-loss bags for verification and balancing.
  • Manually inspect rejected notes for counterfeits, dye stains, and mutilation.
  • Transfer cash to vaults.
  • Conduct end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of all received cash.
  • Handle all transactions, including shortages and surpluses, in line with SOPs.

Desktop Deposit Processing:

  • Inspect containers/bags for damage or tampering and report issues to the Team Controller.
  • Record acknowledgment of containers/bags on the relevant system.
  • Ensure deposits are kept separate per customer and processed on the same day they are received.
  • Balance all deposits on the appropriate system.
  • Conduct end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of all received cash.

Sachet and Coin Processing:

  • Process bulk coin deposits per SBV policies and procedures.
  • Sort and process teller coin transfers.

Bank System Integrated Deposit Processing:

  • Validate transactions linked to system integrations as per bank SLA.
  • Inform client services of unlinked account numbers to avoid credit delays.
  • Verify deposit account numbers to prevent losses or misposts.
  • Escalate system downtimes or delayed batches to the Team Controller.

Payroll and Change Processing:

  • Process payroll/change transactions per customer SLAs.
  • Report discrepancies promptly to the Team Controller.
  • Seal floats in drop-safe bags with float packing slips and place them into trolleys as required by clients.
  • Process payroll entries within bank SLA timeframes.
  • Maintain equipment by reporting defects to the Team Controller.
  • Obtain bank authorization prior to dispatching as per SOP.

Prepack/Treasury:

  • Assist with accurate packing and unpacking of bank and ATM cash.
  • Manage consumables as required.
  • Ensure bag and seal numbers are correctly recorded.

Equipment Management:

  • Use equipment as per SOPs, safeguarding and maintaining company assets.

Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • 6 to 12 months of previous cashier/teller experience is advantageous.

Education:

  • Matric with Maths Literacy.

Special Training or Requirements:

  • Successful completion of SBV Cash Processor training.
