What You Will Do
Volvo Trucks Southern Africa presents a unique opportunity for a graduate to gain exposure to various Business Control functions. This role is based in Boksburg at the Regional Distribution Centre. Volvo Business Control Internships 2024
The successful candidate will experience a comprehensive training program in key Business Control areas, including:
- Management Cost Control: Assist with managing and controlling costs effectively.
- Monthly Financial Reporting: Support in tasks such as:
- Journal posting and review using SAP accounting software.
- Reporting financial results on the Company’s VGCS system.
- Conducting detailed financial analyses against planned budgets.
- Preparing and presenting financial results to the Global Business Control Team.
- Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
- Equipment Investment Management: Support managing equipment investments.
- Cost Deployment: Utilize tools to reduce waste/loss and enhance productivity.
- Finance-Related Tasks: Engage in various finance-related activities.
- Freight Cost Reporting: Compile and analyze freight cost reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Freight Payments: Arrange and manage freight payments.
- Procurement Process: Support creating purchase orders and ensuring the delivery of goods.
- Miscellaneous Spend Management: Manage and oversee the usage and expenditure on miscellaneous items.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Service Market Logistics Team.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Finance.
Key Competencies
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is advantageous).
- Attention to detail and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Strong administrative skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
The role also includes supporting the conference call coordination with the Business Control Global Team, where financial results and forecasts are discussed. This will hone your communication skills and provide a platform to present detailed financial analyses.
