Job Purpose

The Learning and Development Internship at Absa is crafted to maximize both individual and organizational development through structured learning programs. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in executing predefined training objectives, ensuring that both you and the organization reap the benefits of effective training initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this internship, candidates should possess the following:

  • A Bachelorā€™s degree in Human Resources, a National Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the Human Capital field, focusing on learning and development.
Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

  • Assist in managing administrative tasks related to learning and development programs.
  • Schedule training sessions, manage attendance, and maintain accurate training records.

Coordination:

  • Organize logistics for training events, including booking venues and arranging catering.
  • Manage invitations and registrations as required.

Communication:

  • Provide clear and effective communication to trainers, participants, and stakeholders.
  • Disseminate information about training programs, schedules, and requirements.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, evaluations, and feedback.
  • Compile data and generate reports to track the effectiveness and compliance of training programs.

Technology Utilisation:

  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other training platforms to organize, deliver, and track training activities.

Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Collect and analyze training evaluations and feedback.
  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future training initiatives.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all training and development activities comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Focus on skills development and BEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) compliance.

Additional Support:

  • Occasionally support other Human Capital initiatives within the business.
