Department of Health is Recruiting X20 Enrolled Nursing Assistants | Grade 1, 2 or 3 The role of an Enrolled Nursing Assistant Grade 1, 2, or 3, scheduled for sessional work of 80 hours per month, is pivotal in ensuring quality patient care and support within healthcare facilities. These professionals are responsible for providing basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including tasks such as monitoring patient vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a hygienic environment.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications:
  • Must have a qualification that qualifies for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
  • Proof of current registration with SANC is essential.
  1. Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Capable of providing fundamental, high-quality nursing care to patients.
  • Competence in functioning under high-pressure conditions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to uphold respect and dignity for patients and their families.
  1. Reporting:
  • Successful candidates will report to both the enrolled nurse and the professional nurse.

Duties:

  1. Patient Care:
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including physical care.
  • Deliver elementary clinical nursing care.
  1. Professional Development:
  • Maintain professional growth and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Participate in self-development activities.
  1. Nursing Procedures:
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of nursing procedures.
  • Execute lawful instructions as required.
